The web design for URL=IRL was collaborative. My key contribution to this role included the creation of moving image page backgrounds responding to and re-interpreting the Gardens Theatre venue site. This concept was born out of the necessity to adapt our project to a digital space. Instead of presenting creative work within Gardens Theatre, we found creative ways to document and distort the venue; mystifying depictions of the physical world within the digital world to reiterate the uneasy adaption to these virtual spaces.

Each of these page backgrounds takes a still image of a space within Gardens Theatre and attributes a sense of distortion and movement to it, transforming these images into fluid, ambiguous forms.

Page Background 2: This looped video consists of a photograph of a stairwell featuring UV lighting. The stairwell railing has been repeated throughout the image, and has been warped, causing the railing to appear as if it is rippling from the outside to the centre.
